Life Among the Chibok of Nigeria
For this 624-page anthropology/history book, AV provided substantive editing, cover design, interior design, adjustment and insertion of the author’s photographs, and ISBN, LCCN, and barcode. AV also served as liaison to the book printer.
Special Features: Index, maps, and a fold-out genealogical chart in full color.
Glimpses of Life in Northeast Nigeria: 1954-1968
For this book of cultural presentation, AV provided developmental editing, ghost writing, and ISBN, LCCN, and barcode. Cover design, interior design, and adjustment and arrangement of the author’s photographs completed the production services needed. AV also served as liaison to the book printer.
Special Feature: 254 black and white photos translated into duotones of black plus brown to achieve the dark, warm skin tones.
Remnants: Prairie Gas Stations Remembered
For this pictorial presentation of historic buildings, AV provided substantive editing, cover design, interior design and formatting, adjustment and insertion of the author’s 562 color photographs, and ISBN, LCCN, and barcode.
Special Feature: Addition of second color for portions of black-and-white cover image.
McPherson Church of the Brethren: Our Story 1885-2010
For this documentation of church history, AV supplied copyediting, cover design, and interior design with insertion of 178 black-and-white photos.

Barking Buoys
For this memoir, AV provided substantive editing, ISBN, LCCN, and barcode, cover design, and interior design.
Design challenge: Author wanted her own dog in the cover photo.
Solution: With a little Photoshop magic, AV embedded an image of her dog into a dynamic background of stock photography.
Fun on the Run
For this short, entertaining memoir, AV provided copyediting, cover design, interior design and formatting, ISBN, LCCN, and barcode.
Prairie Courage
For this children’s chapter book, AV provided substantive editing, ISBN, LCCN, and barcode, interior design, and cover design.
Challenge: Author needed illustrations for cover and interior.
Solution: AV hired and directed the illustrator.

Science Saves the Day Series for Young Children
For the first two books of this series about Savanna Spider, Super Scientist, AV provided copyediting, cover design, and interior design with insertion of the illustrator’s images.

AV designed the cover for this fantasy book using custom photography that was altered and combined to create the image of a spooky moonlit night.
